Toyota Yaris
Date: started in February 2023, finished in September 2023
In September 2022 my girlfriend and I bought a new car to replace both of our cars. We chose a Toyota Yaris (XP210) in the rare orange color that was offered for less than a year here in Belgium. Most of the cars are sold in boring colors nowadays.
After I finished the replica of the house, I wanted to add the car in front of it:
The dark orange color was maybe slightly closer to the real one, but the amount of available parts in (bright) orange being bigger, I rather chose that color. Maybe the new reddish orange color would be even better, but it how long will it take before enough parts are available in it?
I computed the scale needed for that and printed blueprints of the car adjusted to that scale. I started with the rear and the roof:
The front was more tricky to make, and required many trials and changes.
Putting some parts upside down helped to have a better shape. Bars and clips are used to hold some parts, which may be easier if part 47905 Brick, Modified 1 x 1 with Studs on 2 Sides, Opposite was available in orange.
The exterior was mostly completed, some parts already replaced by the right color but others still pending a BrickLink order:
Adding an interior, even if not very visible with the tinted windows:
Final result:
The stickers with the Toyota badge comme from the set 76901 Toyota-GR-Supra. Luckily, these had a transparent background.
One part is still pending replacement: 36840 Bracket 1 x 1 - 1 x 1 Inverted (used near both front and rear wheel arches). I thought it was arriving among other new orange bracked parts, but that one is still missing...
